Guide Bio:
Mike Wakeford

I was born and bred in Cape Town's South Peninsula, a spectacular playground of mountains and coastline. This is what shaped my passion for spending as much time as possible "out there", either hiking, scrambling or surfing, and enjoying the benefits that Nature offers us.
I became a Mountain Guide in 2011, and since then I have guided many visitors and locals up our mountains, from Table Mountain to Cape Point, and in the Cederberg.
I am also a qualified Abseil and Single Pitch Climbing Guide, as well as Wilderness First Aider.
From 2013 to 2019 I was an Expedition Leader for World Challenge, leading youth expeditions to destinations such as Nepal, India, Vietnam and Morocco.
I have recently launched Red Cederberg Hiking Escapes. These are 3 night, fully catered slackpacking experiences with guided day hikes in the majestic Cederberg Mountains.
